What each Sprout Social plan includes
Essentials: $99 per seat a month
Sprout Social Essentials costs $99 per seat a month with monthly billing, or $79 billed yearly, and connects up to 5 social profiles. Sprout Social marks it as new and built for "social media professionals focused on simplifying publishing workflows". It covers publishing, optimal send times, profile and post-level reports and Trellis, Sprout's AI agent, with 100 credits per seat a month.
Standard: $249 per seat a month
Sprout Social Standard costs $249 per seat a month with monthly billing, or $199 billed yearly, and includes 5 social profiles. Sprout pitches it as "perfect for small teams managing a few profiles across social networks". It adds the consolidated inbox and collaboration tools, keyword and location monitoring and review management.
Professional: $399 per seat a month
Sprout Social Professional costs $399 per seat a month with monthly billing, or $299 billed yearly, and is the first plan with unlimited social profiles. On top of Standard, it adds message tagging, competitor, tag and paid insights, and Enhance Post by AI Assist. Sprout marks it as the most popular plan.
Advanced: $499 per seat a month
Sprout Social Advanced costs $499 per seat a month with monthly billing, or $399 billed yearly, with unlimited social profiles. It's built "for the challenges of cross-functional teams and workflows" and adds Enhance Reply by AI Assist, sentiment in the Smart Inbox and Reviews, the Sprout API, helpdesk integrations and team productivity reports.
Enterprise: custom pricing
Enterprise is designed for "organizations with large-scale social media operations". It adds white-glove onboarding, SSO setup and priority support. Pricing comes through a demo request.
Sprout Social add-ons and extra costs
Sprout Social sells several add-ons on top of the plan price. Only Trellis Plus has a public price:
- Trellis Plus: $28 per user a month billed yearly, $35 billed monthly. It extends the AI credits that come with every seat.
- Listening and Premium Analytics: add-ons for Standard and higher plans, priced by Sprout's sales team.
- Employee Advocacy: an add-on for Standard and higher, priced on request.
- Influencer Marketing: a separate product, priced on request.
Extra profiles have no separate price. Essentials and Standard stop at 5, so a sixth profile means moving to Professional.
What you'll actually pay: real-world scenarios
With monthly billing, one person pays $99 to $499 a month for Sprout Social, depending on the plan, and each teammate adds a full seat. The totals below multiply the per-seat prices above by headcount and leave out add-ons priced on request.
| Scenario | Plan you need | Monthly billing | Yearly billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person, 5 profiles, publishing only | Essentials | $99/mo | $948/yr |
| 1 person, 5 profiles with inbox and reviews | Standard | $249/mo | $2,388/yr |
| 1 person, 10 profiles | Professional | $399/mo | $3,588/yr |
| 3 people, 5 profiles with inbox | Standard × 3 | $747/mo | $7,164/yr |
| 3 people, 20 profiles | Professional × 3 | $1,197/mo | $10,764/yr |
| 5 people, API and helpdesk integrations | Advanced × 5 | $2,495/mo | $23,940/yr |
The biggest price step is at the sixth profile. Essentials and Standard stop at 5, so one person with 6 profiles moves from $99 to $399 a month, the Professional price. Each new teammate then adds a full seat at the same plan price.
On Pubblica, connected accounts are unlimited on both plans, and Pro is $20 a month flat for all 9 networks.
Does Sprout Social have a free plan or a free trial?
Sprout Social has no free plan. Instead, Essentials, Standard, Professional and Advanced each come with a 30-day free trial, and you don't need a credit card to start it. When the trial ends, you choose a plan and add payment details to keep your account.
If you're looking for a free plan instead of a trial, Pubblica's Free plan includes 20 posts a month to every supported network except X, with no card.
Other things that affect your Sprout Social bill
- Yearly billing saves 20 to 25%. One Professional seat costs $4,788 over 12 monthly payments and $3,588 billed yearly. Professional gets 25% off, the other plans 20%.
- Nonprofits pay less for Professional and Advanced: $239 and $299 per seat a month billed yearly, for US 501(c)(3) organizations with at least 2 seats, per the nonprofit pricing page.
- Fees are non-refundable. Cancelling or downgrading doesn't refund prepaid, unused fees, per section 5 of the Terms of Service.
- Renewal prices can change. Under the same section, a yearly plan can renew at up to 7% more unless Sprout gives 60 days' notice of different pricing, and monthly prices can rise from the next billing date.
- Every user is a seat. A new teammate adds the full plan price, so from Professional up, team size drives the bill, not profile count.
