What each Hootsuite plan includes
Standard: from $99 per user a month
Hootsuite Standard costs $99 per user a month billed yearly, or $149 with monthly billing, and includes 10 social accounts. Its plan page opens with "Doing social solo? We can help." It covers unlimited scheduled posts, bulk scheduling, AI-written posts and images, a unified inbox and brand monitoring, with benchmarks against 5 competitors.
The 10 accounts count across all networks: five Facebook Pages and five Instagram profiles fill the plan.
Professional: from $199 per user a month
Hootsuite Professional costs $199 per user a month billed yearly, or $299 with monthly billing, and is the first plan with unlimited social accounts. On top of Standard, it adds inbox and DM automation, a 90-day trend forecast, custom and scheduled reports and benchmarks against 20 competitors.
Advanced: from $399 per user a month
Hootsuite Advanced costs $399 per user a month billed yearly, or $499 with monthly billing, with unlimited social accounts. It's built for teams and adds content approvals, internal comments, message routing and assignment, team performance metrics and customer satisfaction surveys.
Enterprise: custom pricing
Enterprise is sold on a yearly contract, with pricing through a demo request. It adds SSO, compliance integrations, social listening with Talkwalker and 13 months of history, employee advocacy and a Salesforce integration, plus onboarding and consulting.
Hootsuite add-ons and extra costs
Hootsuite's self-serve plans list no priced add-ons. The extra costs come from seats and the account cap:
- Extra users: each one is another seat at the full plan price, and you can buy as many as you need.
- Extra accounts: Standard stops at 10, and there's no pack of extra accounts, so an 11th account means moving to Professional.
- Enterprise add-ons: advanced inbox, advanced analytics, listening and employee advocacy come with Enterprise, priced on request, per the Enterprise plan page.
What you'll actually pay: real-world scenarios
With monthly billing, one person pays $149 to $499 a month for Hootsuite, depending on the plan, and each teammate adds a full seat. The totals below multiply the per-user prices above by headcount.
| Scenario | Plan you need | Monthly billing | Yearly billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person, up to 10 accounts | Standard | $149/mo | $1,188/yr |
| 1 person, 15 accounts | Professional | $299/mo | $2,388/yr |
| 3 people, up to 10 accounts | Standard × 3 | $447/mo | $3,564/yr |
| 3 people, 25 accounts with inbox automation | Professional × 3 | $897/mo | $7,164/yr |
| 5 people with approvals and message routing | Advanced × 5 | $2,495/mo | $23,940/yr |
The biggest price step is at the 11th account. Standard stops at 10, so one person with 11 accounts moves from $99 to $199 a month billed yearly, or from $149 to $299 monthly. Each new teammate then adds a full seat at the same plan price.
On Pubblica, connected accounts are unlimited on both plans, and Pro is $20 a month flat for all 9 networks.
Is Hootsuite free? Free plan and trial
No, Hootsuite isn't free: it has no free plan, and Standard, Professional and Advanced each come with a 14-day free trial that needs no credit card. Hootsuite doesn't charge you automatically when the trial ends, per its plans page. During the trial you can schedule 10 to 20 posts per organization, depending on the plan, and bulk scheduling is off.
Hootsuite used to have a free plan. In April 2021, Hootsuite cut it to 2 social accounts and 5 scheduled posts, and today its plans page lists only paid plans and the trial.
If you're looking for a free plan instead of a trial, Pubblica's Free plan includes 20 posts a month to every supported network except X, with no card.
Other things that affect your Hootsuite bill
- Yearly billing saves 20 to 34%. One Standard seat costs $1,788 over 12 monthly payments and $1,188 billed yearly. Standard and Professional get about a third off, Advanced 20%.
- Nonprofits pay up to 60% less: $39, $79 and $159 per user a month billed yearly for Standard, Professional and Advanced, per the HootGiving page.
- Fees are non-refundable. If you cancel or downgrade, you pay for the rest of the plan term, per section 24 of the Terms of Service. Hootsuite's refund policy says it reviews refund requests case by case.
- Renewal prices can change on 30 days' notice, though not during your current monthly or yearly term, per the payment terms.
- Yearly billing can't switch to monthly mid-term. You can move to monthly billing only after the yearly term ends.
- Every user is a seat. From Professional up, team size drives the bill.

Who Hootsuite pricing fits
Hootsuite's per-user price fits teams that use it as a full social suite, not only as a scheduler.
- Teams that answer messages on social. Standard includes a unified inbox, Professional adds inbox and DM automation, and Advanced adds message routing and assignment.
- Brands that track competitors and trends. Standard benchmarks 5 competitors, and Professional benchmarks 20 and adds a 90-day trend forecast and custom reports.
- Large organizations. Enterprise adds SSO, compliance integrations, Talkwalker listening and employee advocacy.
If you mainly publish posts, you can start at $0: Pubblica is a free social media scheduler, and Pro is $20 a month flat for unlimited posts and accounts. Move to Pro when you post more or need X.
