The free apps that post to multiple platforms at once are Pubblica, Buffer, Metricool, Publer, Fedica and Meta Business Suite. Each one publishes a post to several networks from one place without a time limit. They differ in how many posts and accounts the free plan allows and which networks it covers.

We make Pubblica, so it comes first. The limits come from each vendor's own pricing page. Tools with only a trial are listed at the end.

1. Pubblica: best for many accounts on one free plan

Pubblica is best for many accounts on one free plan because its Free plan has no account limit. It is a social media scheduler for 9 networks: you write a post once, pick the accounts and publish it right away or at the time you set. The Free plan includes 20 posts a month on every network except X, with unlimited connected accounts and no credit card.

Each post counts once, however many networks it goes to. A post sent to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube at the same time uses one of the 20. You can keep one caption for every network or write a separate one for each, and Pubblica checks every image and video against each network's limits before it publishes.

Pro costs $20 a month for unlimited posts on all 9 networks, with a 7-day free trial. More on how it works: social media automation and managing multiple social media accounts.

2. Buffer: best for a few channels on a free plan

Buffer is best for a few channels because its free plan covers 3 channels, with 10 scheduled posts per channel and one user. Buffer limits the queue, not posts per month: once a scheduled post goes out, its slot frees up. Buffer supports 12 networks.

Paid plans bill per channel, from $6 per channel/mo. When you upgrade, every connected channel is billed, including the three you started with free. Prices and plans are in our Buffer pricing breakdown.

3. Metricool: best for analytics for one brand

Metricool is best for analytics for one brand because it combines scheduling with analytics. Its free plan covers 1 brand, 20 posts/mo, with 30 days of analytics. LinkedIn and X aren't included on the free plan, and the one brand can't be swapped for another.

Paid plans start at $25/mo for 5 brands. See Metricool pricing for what each tier adds and our list of Metricool alternatives.

4. Publer: best for per-account pricing with Telegram

Publer is best for per-account pricing with Telegram because its free plan covers 3 accounts, no X, with 10 scheduled posts per account and one user. Like Buffer's, the limit is a queue. Publer supports 13 networks, Telegram among them.

Paid plans bill per social account, from $5 per account/mo. More in our list of Publer alternatives.

5. Fedica: best for one account on each of many networks

Fedica is best for one account on each of many networks because its free plan connects 12 accounts, one per network, with unlimited drafts and up to 10 scheduled posts at a time. Fedica lists 15 networks, so the free plan covers up to 12 of them, one account each; Fedica notes that availability varies by network.

The cheapest paid plan, Publish, costs $15 a month, or $10 a month billed yearly, for 15 accounts and up to 100 scheduled posts.

6. Meta Business Suite: best for Facebook, Instagram and Threads only

Meta Business Suite is best if you post only to Facebook, Instagram and Threads: it's Meta's own free tool for Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts. One post goes to a Facebook Page and Instagram together, with a separate caption for each if you want one, and on desktop it can also go to Threads. It handles posts, Reels and Stories, and schedules Facebook Page posts up to 29 days ahead.

Business Suite is free to use and has no paid plans. It publishes only to Meta's apps, so TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and other networks need another tool. Step-by-step instructions are in our guide on how to share a Facebook post to Instagram.

Free trials and self-hosting

Hootsuite, Later and Postiz have no free plan without an end date, though they come up in lists of cross-posting apps:

  • Hootsuite offers a trial of 14 days, no card, then paid plans from $99 per user/mo, billed yearly.
  • Later offers a trial of 14 days, card required, then paid plans from $18.75/mo, billed yearly.
  • Postiz offers a 7-day trial of its hosted plans, which start at $29 a month. Its open-source code, under the AGPL-3.0 license, is free to self-host: you run the server yourself and register your own developer app with most networks.

How to cross-post on social media for free

To cross-post on social media for free, connect your accounts to a free scheduler, write the post once and publish or schedule it to every selected account.

  1. Sign up for a free plan and connect your accounts. Each network asks you to log in through its own page.
  2. Write the post once. Add the text and media, pick the accounts, and adjust the caption for a network if it needs a different length or tone.
  3. Publish or schedule. Send it now or pick a date and time, and the app publishes to every selected account.

Native options inside Meta's apps and a workflow for video are in our guide on how to post to multiple platforms at once.

What to check in a free plan

A free plan is limited by four things: posts per month or queue size, accounts, networks and the price after you upgrade.

  • Monthly cap or queue. Pubblica and Metricool count posts per month. Buffer, Publer and Fedica limit how many posts can wait in the queue at once.
  • Account limits. Buffer and Publer stop at three accounts, Metricool at one brand, Fedica at one account per network. Pubblica has no account limit on Free.
  • Networks on the free plan. X isn't on the free plans of Pubblica, Publer or Metricool, and Metricool's free plan also leaves out LinkedIn.
  • The price after you outgrow it. Buffer bills per channel, Publer per account and Metricool per brand. Pubblica Pro is $20 a month flat for unlimited accounts.

Free cross-posting apps FAQ

If it's not here, email support@pubblica.net and a person will reply

Is there an app where you can post to all socials at once?

Yes. A social media scheduler publishes one post to every account you select. Pubblica covers 9 networks, and its Free plan works on all of them except X. Buffer, Metricool, Publer and Fedica also have free plans. Meta Business Suite is free but posts only to Facebook, Instagram and Threads.

What is the best free app to post on multiple platforms?

It depends on how many accounts you run. For many accounts, Pubblica's Free plan has no account limit and 20 posts a month. For up to three channels with a queue, Buffer fits. For one account on each of many networks, Fedica fits. For Facebook and Instagram only, Meta Business Suite is enough.

How many posts can you schedule for free?

Pubblica and Metricool allow 20 posts a month on their free plans. Buffer allows 10 scheduled posts per channel and Publer 10 per account, and Fedica 10 scheduled posts in total; a slot frees up when a post goes out.

Is Buffer still free?

Yes. Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel and one user. Paid plans bill per channel, from $6 per channel/mo, and every connected channel is billed once you upgrade, including the three you started with.

Is Hootsuite free?

No. Hootsuite has no free plan: it offers a free trial of 14 days, no card, and paid plans start at $99 per user/mo, billed yearly; every plan is in our Hootsuite pricing breakdown. Later works the same way, with a trial of 14 days, card required.

Can you post to Facebook and Instagram at the same time for free?

Yes. Meta Business Suite publishes one post to a Facebook Page and an Instagram professional account at no cost, and the Facebook app can share a photo or video post to Instagram as you publish it. Every app in this list also posts to both networks on its free plan.
